Carlsberg do not do golf days, but if they did.......
What a day, driven to Royal Portrush in a drug dealer car, a free round on a top ten golf course (slight hickup when the good guys lost), a great lunch then escorted back to the front door --Perfect!
Stewart (Elser Crawford with his new camera) did a great job on getting £600 of golf for free, and what a course, it was a joy to play! As usual the bad boys started well, winning the first, but were pegged back at the next with the only birdie of the day by Knoxy. After that every other hole in the first nine was halved! Knox was starting to feel tired as Stewart has not een to the gym and he was finding him very heavy to carry around the first nine!
The second nine started the same as the bad boys won the 10th. Two hole later they were 3up and starting to look a bit smug! They could taste the victory! But Stewart decided to get in on the show and when the good boys were 3 down with 4 to play he made his move! Down the middle, onto the green, putts from everywhere and it was all square walking onto the 18th tee. You could hear Bennett and Beatties sphinters pulsing!
Knox puts it in the gorse, Stewart again steps up to the mark and puts it down the middle, Bennett follows Knoxy and the James followed his much fitter and better looking brother up the fairway.
James then proceeded to make a name for himself with agreat shot to teh middle of the green, followed by a perfect putt. He had a 12inch putt for par nett birdie and win! Middle of the hole!
Congratulation to Beattie and Bennett on their first win!
Although there will be an investigation as Knox and Beattie where seen talking with a couple of Pakistan Betting Syndicates - rumours are that they threw the match to keep Bennett and Beattie interested!

Knox & Beattie with the Better ball Trophy following their 4&3 win
A beautiful Sunday morning at Royal Belfast Golf Club saw the beginning of the inaugural Snip de Jour Trophy.
Beattie and Bennett were determined to revenge their embarrassing defeat in 2009 to Beattie and Knox where there were humiliated on the 12th hole at Royal Greenisland with the infamous Golf bag gate affair!
Starting strongly Beattie and Bennett got themselves into a position they have never been before...... the honour on the tee after winning the 2nd. A tight number of holes followed until Knox sunk a putt from off the green on the 6th for birdie to bring the match back to all square.
On the 9th hole a great chip over the greenside bunker and down the green to the hole by the slightly tenderer Beattie brother allowed him to tap in a par putt to go 1 up.
Once the good guys had their noses in front they never looked like faltering. There was a slight scare on the 10th when Stuart’s painkillers started to wear off and a few twinges were felt in the undercarriage!
By the 14th after Knox hit a 5 iron to two feet on the par three Beattie and Knox were 3 up with four holes to play.
A hard 15th Hole uphill into the wind was a good test for any golfer but it did not seem to phase Beattie and Knox. Both had par putts but they were not needed, bogie was good enough for the win and to claim the match 4 &3.
