Past Winners of the Picken Cup and Ferguson Trophy
1939 - present
1973 - present
The first Old Boys' Golf outing of the season saw every fourball play 18 holes at Malone Golf Club in the Sunshine with the rain only starting once the last group putted out on the 18th.
A great day was had by all 36 Old Boys' and their Guests as the Course was in excellent condition after Captain's Day on the 11th June. Trying to win the Picken Cup is always important to those playing but it more important that those playing have a sociable day playing a good course and an enjoyable evening meal with some good craic over a few drinks in the bar.
Congratulations go to Michael Black who won the Picken Cup with 40points. Michael has won the cup once before, back in 1973!
The Golf Section of the Old Boys’ continues to be very strong and both outings are well supported each year. Thank you to everyone who supports the outings and it is always great to see new faces each year.
We look forward to seeing another big crowd out for Graham Lynn’s Captain’s Day on 16th September at Royal Belfast Golf Club.
